I have added a persistent Metaverse server at eggy.servebeer.com.
If you dont have the latest version you cant resolve DNS names, but you can have my current IP which is 213.58.100.61
This is a 512/128 ADSL line, so dont complain about lag. Also, after 2 AM GMT every day I will have bittorrent running, downloading some anime and stuff. So it might be slower around then.
LMK if you cant reach the IP and I will see if it has changed.
Kris Ritter has offered to run a server as well. More details when I can get them from her. If you want to run a server, well, put it up and post your adress here. |

| Yay! I'm gonna give this tired old puter a rest. It's been running for days. I'll put up my new IP in the morning. |

Ok, mine's at 67.29.152.250. This is a real dedicated server, running on a T1 connection. No lag here, folks :)

My Metaverse server is at 131.247.94.43. Please Please Please come visit me. It's on a 100MBit connection, so there will not be any lag. However, I may have to restart the server occationally, as I am playing with it and experementing.

| Are any of these persistent servers still up and running? I'm not connecting on repeated attempts. Thanks. |

There are no persistent servers at this time.
There are two ways to publish worlds to other people:
- store the world to a website, and publish the url (eg osmp://manageddreams.com/osmp/TestWorld/worldwithtextures.OSMP )
- start OSMP, fill in the worldname dialog and click return. Your server will register itself into the #osmp channel of QuakeNet, allowing other people to see and connect to it.
To connect to other people's worlds:
- start OSMP
- enter a username and login. This will connect you to the #osmp channel of Quakenet
- click "Show servers..."
- select a server and click connect
- you should be connected to the server
Note that the irc server browser is very beta at the moment, and probably wont work in general, although the code is in place. The osmp:// URL does work; however it's temporarily disactivated in recent SVN versions. |
